Airwolf was to me one of the best shows of the '80s. I remember the first time I saw the teaser commercials before the pilot and it sent chills of anticipation in my 15 y.o. frame, not knowing what the show was about only hearing the ghostly howl on the teaser. A week later the pilot came on the air and I was hooked, a mach 1 attack helicopter with unmatched firepower...WOW! I remember the rumors that flew after the first few episodes about how the show ALMOST didn't make it on the air because it was "too close to what the military was working on". 'The Lady' even today is as sleek, sexy, streamlined and as deadly as she was back in the '84 serise and I am sure would be a match for ANY of todays shows. Action! Suspence! Humor! Sex! (well as much as '80s CBS would allow lol) all rolled in to one show that made the A-team look like Benny Hill with guns (c'mon 1,000 bullets flying and the only ones that got hit were the A-Team?) and Blue Thunder look like the true "beenie with a rotor on it". I still see the reruns (Thanks HULU!) and get the adrenaline surge, hightened heartbeat and chills every I see that bird fly! Yes I know I haven't said a single word about String or Dom, but face it, it was ALL About the Helicopter! (well that and Jean Bruce Scott hehe) Just like Knight Rider (the '80s one not this new hour long ford commercial) was ALL about the car! (and Bonnie *grin* )

My 2 cents

I agree with the poster that said "Jan-Michael Vincent is one of the worst actors in Hollywood" but the supporting actors were great and no matter the typical ending, the show was a pleasure to watch. I liked the music and the premise. This is one show I wish there was a sequel.

I love the guy who says that tv was so much better back in the '80s. I keep saying the same thing about the '60s! Depends upon your age, huh? At any rate I watched Airwolf on CBS during its initial run. Jan-Michael Vincent is one of the worst actors in Hollywood. Alex Cord was cool. My problem with the show was that you knew the helicopter would show up at the end every time and save the day. Still, it was good stuff back in the Reagan-Tom Clancy era, which is easy to get nostalgic over. I sort of miss the Cold War. Nice to see Airwolf again, though as I recall there were some nasty crashes that killed a couple of stunt people.
