I stopped watching, because the personal commentary turned into the Big-Mouth Miguel Show as he bashed everyone else, especially Michael. I wish Michael had walked up to him and asked, "Why are you obsessed with me?" PRODUCERS: very tiring and annoying. Furthermore, repeats of the show were hard to find, so I couldn't catch up. Finally, I didn't think a show could be MORE GAY (I'm gay, back off) than Project Runway, but this show was over-the-top gay, along with too much icing (emotional drama clotted by crocodile tears).

By the way, Miguel: Prince called from 1990 and he wants his hairdo back.

I started watching this to fill the void left by "So You Think You Can Dance"...and I guess it's an adequate replacement, at times. The dancers are competent, some are even talented, but the reality-show confessional style of the show does it no favors. If you compare these dancers to those on "So You Think You Can Dance", there's a pretty substantial difference between the two ensembles (I might be a bit biased, but the dancers on SYTYCD are just better and some of them are mesmerizing to watch, whereas these dancers are kind of like Broadway gypsies who happened to find their way onto a reality show) but a handful of the contestants on "Step It Up and Dance" do occasionally rise above bland and forgettable.

And I have to give the show credit for finally becoming a bit more focused in these final episodes. It's not quite compelling drama yet, but at least there was an attempt by the editors to entertain viewers this week.

I watch this show, but I have to say that it is lacking in a few areas. First of all, the talent level of its cast is decent, but not superstar. There are a few obvious finalists, and the rest are just so so. I believe the reason for this is that it is only in its first season. Give it another year, let it gain some more staying power, and I think you will see the overall talent rise. This is the exact same thing that happened with Top Chef and Project Runway. The second and third seasons show an extremely talented field as opposed to preceding seasons. I believe that in its second season, if the producers can gather a stronger band of talent, Step It Up and Dance will grow tremendously in popularity. Secondly, they need to find a new host. Heidi Klum and Tom Colicchio were pretty much icons in their fields before their respective shows, and although Elizabeth Berkeley was in Showgirls, do you really think of her as a dancer? Is there not someone else with a tried and true connection to dancing? Anyway, although I doubt Berkeley will ever be off the show, if past Bravo reality trends remain true, the second season should be more explosive and exciting than this years pretty bland and underwhelming cast. I hope so, but I will watch it either way.

Perhaps it's not of the same caliber as "So You Think You Can Dance" but still a good dance reality show, even possibly "great" IF you're a dance reality fanatic who can't get enough of this type of stuff. I do find it to be a little lacking in depth and drama but that's likely due to the fact that I'm a HUGE SYTYCD fan. Better...(MUCH so) than the silly, IMO, series, "Dancing With The Stars", which I found just...goofy and OVER dramatic for my taste, as it really didn't have that "reality show" feel. This show certainly DOES have the reality show feel and perhaps in the next season/s (ashould there be more) they will sharpen up a few things and tweak it out a bit more to have that finely tuned balance of drama and reality that SYTYCD found, and brilliantly so, again, IMO. Good TV though, I really like it.
