I've seen this movie several times before and I was absolutely DELIGHTED to come home yesterday and see that it has been added to the Hulu lineup (had I previously overlooked it???) I no longer watch TV because it is NOTHING BUT TRASH ON TOP OF MORE TRASH, especially with all the "reality TV." I grew up during a time (60s/70s) when people were still decent and that decency was reflected in TV shows and movies. The topics of this film (abortion, suicide, infidelity, etc) were very risque for their time. However, each was addressed subtly. You didn't have to have all the overt sexuality and profanity so pervasive in TV and films today. This isn't the best film of the era but it's good and it's nice to be able to enjoy a movie once in a while, even if I have seen it before.
And I absolutely adore the Old Hollywood era of the 30s/40s/50s (Joan Crawford, Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Lana Turner, Cary Grant, Burt Lanchester, Joseph Cotton, Gregory Peck--I could go on and on!)
NICE ONE, HULU, MUCH MORE OF THE SAME!
