Loved it
So it's not a fast paced modern movie. That's what I liked about it. Spend your time enjoying the details. Enjoy the characters, because that is the best part of the film. Enjoy the costumes and sets. Enjoy the historical perspective. Picture yourself actually flying one of those flimsy death machines and imagine yourself risking your life in a situation where many others are dying. I loved the dogfights, but it's the interaction between the characters that is more important to the story. That kind of intensity takes time, so enjoy the view while watching that unfold. The ending was powerful. The person who said the romantic subplot weighed the movie down, missed the point entirely. That was no subplot. The movie is about the characters, not about the action.

1960's Epic
A very good film. Costumes and scenery appeared true to the era, aerial photography was excellent. It was obvious no expense was spared in the making of this movie.

Ah, the Dog fights!
It definitely was an interesting film to watch, specifically from the angle of seeing the pretty wonderful aerial combat sequences. My father - who is British - had a strong affection for these types of fighter planes and would describe the differences of the German planes versus the British planes. After watching this film I have a better understanding (and appreciation) of what he was talking about. As for the characters I found that, while the acting was fine I felt no real draw to any of the characters except, curiously, for poor Willy! All in all, an enjoyable film to watch on a rainy evening.

Not bad. Not perfect, but not bad.

Amused at all the Tiger Moths they gussied up for this, and I find the story, while somewhat predictable, interesting.

The whole issue of the class struggle, as well as airman's sensibilities versus infantry sensibilities makes for a fun viewing.

Certainly worth a watch.
