Okay, in response to all the people bickering over which show is better: I definitely believe that the Daily Show is a "greater" show than the Colbert Report, but it's not "better" per se.
I get my news from the Daily Show, which is the only source I trust, and while I watch it I laugh at the fallacity of our politics, media, and economy, and wonder at the intelligence and insight of these people, who should be taking over the news networks, and desperately wish I could meet Jon Stewart so that I could lick his boots.
When watching the Colbert Report, I laugh, and laugh, and laugh at the fact that our country is in such a state that this kind of humor can be made up at their expense, and come off as very true. And then I rant about how Stephen Colbert should be elegible for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy.
And the excecution of the Report is just as good as the Daily Show's, with extra spice and quirkiness. But no one would schmooze over Stephen, saying he is the most trusted man in America, because he isn't as GREAT as Stewart, even though he's as funny and trustworthy. They may seem similar because fake news isn't that common on television, but in reality they're very different shows.
