What?
Why do we continue on with these pioneers? We know their stories already. Some good others bad. What about the Native Americans? Don't they have a story in this? I would like to see a real doc on the Spaniards who explored these areas 300 or so years before pioneers.

Masterful!
Awesome piece of film! This work reveals the endeavors and character of a daring, explorative people. Not "modern" people. You know-the kind that get a "B" in an American "history" course, then sit comfortably offering smug, pretentious remarks while sipping a latte and wearing a sweater vest.

Totally incoherent
This movie trivializes and mangles a century of American social, political and economic history in a series of unrelated scenes of exploration (?), conquest (?), self-discovery (?). Best viewed with the sound down low.

Stunning.
A beautiful telling of a story that launched a modern world in 100 years. A bizarre occurrence illustrating that we have no idea how big an effect our actions will have on our immediate future. We are fragile, blind, strong, foolish and amazing and we think we know how the story will go. There is no telling what will happen next.
